Compressed natural gas (CNG) is the next generation of fuel for heating and transportation. It is much safer for the environment. CNG produces 20% less greenhouse gas emissions and has lower nitrogen oxide, sulfur dioxide, and particulate emissions. It can easily be transported in pipelines, locally and nationally, which saves on transmission costs and takes tanker trucks off the road. Petroleum spills contaminate soil and groundwater, costing hundreds of thousands of dollars to clean up. CNG spills simply dissipate into the air.
CNG is cheaper than gasoline and heating oil. With the NYSDEC now accepting natural gas exploration permit applications, the supply is expected to grow tremendously, further reducing the cost. Station installations, oil burner conversions, vehicle conversions, and vehicle retrofits are currently being subsidized by federal grants and tax incentives.
CNG is produced domestically, reducing dependence on foreign oil.
With all these benefits, the demand for CNG fueling facilities is growing rapidly. Fenley & Nicol has been a leader in petroleum fueling facility installation and maintenance for over 50 years. Now we are becoming a leader in CNG.
We have been successfully installing CNG fueling facilities across the island since 2004. Our team has the experience to build your CNG facility the right way. When you choose Fenley & Nicol you get plumbers, electricians, and equipment operators whose trade experience is specifically within the fueling facility industry. Don’t hire a group of contractors with experience running electric and plumbing for residential bathroom remodels, hire the contractor that understands the specific requirements of installing fueling facilities.
